One of Many...

It has been one of those days which I'm coming to realize will be One of Many... I think the hardest part of the adjustment for me is the staying home. I didn't realize what an "on-the-go" people Ryan and I were but, I can only take about 1 day inside before I've got to get out again! walks have become my new best friend.
But, the real reason for this post is how my day kind of gets away from me before I know it... So, it is 5:44pm and I'm pretty sure I haven't brushed my teeth today, I just can't remember! I didn't even eat anything until about 2pm and that was only because an amazing friend brought me In-n-Out! THANKS DEDE!!! I didn't even put on a bra until about 1:30 and that was only on Dede's behalf (DON'T JUDGE!:)). Then we uped Wes's formula and I guess I didn't burp good enough because he threw up the entire bottle all over me and himself. So, after I stripped him down to give him a bath, I should know better but, I left the little guy naked in my arms and yep... He peed all over me! So, I had to strip down before giving him his bath. YEA for days like this! I look at it as bonding, right?

Remember this...

Remember this post BABY SLINGS? Well, I decide to go with a wrap and absolutely love it!

Last night we went on a walk and my body heat kept him warm. Within a few minutes he was asleep and stayed that way. I was also able to make dinner the other night with 2 hands while holding him! Yep...I'm a fan!

My friend Jess made the wrap and i downloaded the instructions off the Internet. There are about 5 different wraps you can do...but for now this is my favorite!
Don't notice my un-kept hair do and no make-up...it's kind of how I "roll" these days! :)

CUTE AS A MONKEY OR WHAT?!? I LOVE THIS PICTURE.

Zipper Flowers

If you live in the area and would like to come to a Zipper Flower party (open house) at my house it will be this Friday, the 23rd from 6pm-8pm.
My sister makes these really cute hair accessories and broaches. I wear them to church all the time and sometimes to work and I always get a ton of complements. They are just a little different than your run of the mill flower. Anyways, check out her BLOG for prices and more info. There are more styles than what is shown here. Anyways, if you want to come contact me by leaving a comment or emailing me and I will get you our address.
They are cute and you shouldn't miss out and I hope you can come! :)

Right on Track

Wes had his first official dr. appointment today at 17 days old.
Here is a recap of his original measurements:
Length: 20 1/2 inches
Weight: 8.1 lbs
Head: Not sure
17 days later, here are today's measurements:
Length: 21 1/4 (64.05 percentile)
Weight: 8.8 lbs (36.52 percentile)
Head: 14.56 (41.13 Percentile)
He's right on track...he is just one healthy little peanut!

I have noticed a trend in almost all my pictures so far...he is always asleep but in my defense he usually is! Although, I can't help but take pictures when he makes sleeping look so DARN CUTE!!!

He loves those hands!!
I just can't get enough of this little guy!

Everybodies Doing it...Why Can't I?

That's right! I'm talking about SLEEP!!! One piece of advice I got over and over was, "Sleep when the baby sleeps." I have learned this is easier said than done. From Monday to Thursday morning I got about 4 1/2 hours sleep, if that. I think Wednesday night I was so sleep deprived that even when I really tired to sleep I found that I was just not tired. Thanks to the 3 weeks of American Idol that taped while we were gone I had something to watch on TV. Wes sleeps great...like clock work but I guess I am too paranoid to sleep when he is. I am also a lighter sleeper than Ryan and I kept thinking that if I did sleep and something happened Ryan would not hear him and I would need to be awake. I know...CRAZY THINKING! Anyway, come Thursday morning I could barely stand straight so I called for reinforcements. I woke my mom up, in a fit of tears, who lives about an hour away and she was there asap. Kindly giving me an over the counter sleep aid and taking over for the day while Ryan was at work. I was able to sleep about 8 hours!!!!
I decided that I needed to change something so, Wes was moved back into our room, I say back because when we were in Oklahoma he was in our room and I slept fine but, when we got to Utah he went straight to his crib. The good news is...I was able to sleep just fine last night.
Conclusion...I'm just not ready to have him sleep that far away from me yet!
But, I'm ok with that! :)
At least I can SLEEP and I don't feel like a blubbering mess today!
THANKS MOM...YOU'RE THE BEST!!!

Going Private--Update

I never thought we would go private but...
Due to the adoption I want to be able to monitor who is checking out our little peanut...so, please leave your email! Even if you are only a blog stalker (Chey :))...leave your email. This is mostly due to some issues we have come across in the adoption so far...so, for Wes' protection we need to make the blog private!
The change will take place next week...so, hurry up and leave your email.

Oh, here is an update:
Wes was born on 3/29/10 @ 8:21 am
Length: 20 1/2
Weight: 8.1 lbs (currently 7.7 lbs)

He is perfect! Sleeps all the time, makes funny faces & noises, loves to eat, and is a perfect pink color! We couldn't be happier or more in love with him! Thanks for all the prayers on our behalf, no doubt we have been so blessed! We hope we will be cleared to leave by the end of the week, but we won't know till we get the call...but we are so ready to be home!
We are using a computer that belongs to the couple we are staying with so, that is why there have not been picture updates, but he is so sweet & beautiful. I will try to put up a few pictures soon.

Don't forget to leave your address even if you just get on once in a while because if not...you will be blocked out! No one wants that now, right?

See You on the FLIP Side!

We're off...
It's kind of weird to know the exact date and time your baby will be born!
MONDAY @ 7am!
You may be sleeping but, we will be becoming parents! :)
It hasn't fully set in yet but I'm getting nervous for the whole thing. I'm not really sure a person can prepare themselves for what awaits us in the next two weeks! I'm just now starting to think about the emotional roller coaster it will be!
I'm not sure what kind of Internet access we will have but trust me, I will do my best to get an update ASAP! :)
OK, for real this time...Wish us luck--we'll accept prayers as well! :)
I was going to post a picture of how well rested and pretty we are because it might all change very soon but, you'll all just have to remember our beautiful smiling faces before parenthood! ;)

FALSE ALARM!!!

Sorry for the fake out! From talking to her last week it sounded like it was going to be this week at the latest...but, after today's appointment the dr. said they are still on for the c section but not until her 39th week!!!! So, that's after next Friday. Unless she goes into labor before then and then they will do a c section then. Anyway, sorry for the false excitement--but imagine how we feel...we are packed and ready to go!!! So, I am off to unpack and get ready to go back to work tomorrow am and explain this 100 more times!
BUMMER!!!
On a bright side...Birth mom and baby are doing GREAT! :)

Adoption Update... & Name Spoiler

WE ARE ON OUR WAY!!!! The baby has been upside down for the past couple of weeks and the dr. does not want the birth mom to go into labor and wanted to schedule a C-section last week but she was really nervous and started crying so the dr. agreed to give the baby one more week to turn on his own. As we have been told this is not likely since he is so big so, we are planning on the C-section being scheduled for this week and we are getting ready to drive to Oklahoma tomorrow night or Tuesday morning so that we can be there for sure! :) So, if you think to your self, "I wonder if they are freaking out?" the answer is YES!!! We are freaking out for so many different reasons but really just can hardly wait.
Here are some pictures of the nursery. I am sure we will add things here and there but for now this is how it looks...
I made the bed skirt and valance too but here is my secret...you might say lazy but I say GENIUS! The bed skirt is actually velcroed to the bar holding the mattress. That way I don't have to mess with it every time I change the sheets or if it gets dirty I can just rip the one piece off and wash it without taking the whole thing off...I think I am on to something here! :)
To view more room pictures click here: NAME SPOILER
But, as you can see if you click there you will have a name spoiler! If you don't want to know...DON'T CLICK! Although, if you want to know...CLICK ON!

It has been so much fun getting ready for everything. We have our birth mother gifts and I will be posting pictures of those soon as well. We can't wait to meet her and spend time getting to know her better. She really has been AMAZING!
Anyway, here we go...wish us luck! :)
