Our Feeble Attempt…

Last Friday after we got home from watching Zach Efron we were sitting around with nothing to do…Ry suggested we go camping! Okie Dokie! So, we packed up all our stuff and left. We got a late start but we made it to a camp site just as the sun went down. Ry set up the tent while I gather stuff for the fire…sounds like a solid plan, Right? NOT…this is where it all went down hill.
We tried to get the fire started but everything was still too wet from last weeks storm. And we couldn’t find any big logs or anything that would sustain the fire even if we did get it going. So, we decided to give it a rest and make dinner. Well, we have this little camp stove so Ry put it together and started letting the gas out slowly and it was leaking everywhere! The part was busted! So, we were in the dark, no fire, and no dinner! We stood around a while and ate licorice and Fritos until we just looked at each other and said, “This bites!”

You, guessed it…we packed up, hiked down, and went home! Slept in our nice warm bed and even slept in! Oh, well you can't win em all!

Three Words & a Symbol

This is all I have to say about the movie “17 Again”:

IZach Efron

I am not usually one to care for movie stars but HELLO…that kid has it goin’ on! :)Although, (this is not a spoiler) in the beginning he starts dancing and I thought to myself, “if he starts singing I am out of here” I was not prepared for a High School Musical 4!

Anyway…loved the movie!

HEY...Check Out My NEW Cards :)

Re-Fashioning Project #1

Here is one of my old shirts that was re-fashioned.
BEFORE
AFTERI know it looks like a smaller shirt but isn't that the idea?
My niece, Kenlei, looked really cute in it...she is a good little model!

She is a high-priced model...she demanded to go to the park as compensation! :)

I Love It and You Should Too!

I love this CD! It is prefect for those days where you have a 45 minute commute home in the pouring down rain and you are out of audio books until the 16th when your Audible.com subscriptions renews and you can get another book.

Just incase one of those days comes along! :)

What A Day For A Ride!

I don’t think I could have helped but be outside today…after working for 8 hours in an office with huge windows and seeing how great it was outside I could not let the day go by without a ride! I rode from my house down to Utah Lake, around the lake (a ways) and down some random streets. It was AWESOME! Not to mention BEAUTIFUL! We live in an amazingly beautiful state! I had to stop and take a couple pictures… with my cell phone so they are not the greatest.

Water, mountains, snow, great weather and ducks…does it get any better. It could have if my husband wasn’t at school and he would have been riding with me. :)
I love my bike! Isn’t she pretty?

It is like an old friend…it doesn’t matter that we have been apart nearly a whole winter minus a few short rides here and there but, it is always so comfortable to be with even after a long absence. It is like it was made for ME! :)
I am very excited for the weather to get nicer just to have more opportunities to enjoy the GREAT OUTDOORS!

I need to take advantage of our beautiful surrounding!
Now if the snow would melt in the mountains so that we could go camping…I would be so pleased!

Although, I enjoyed my ride, Ryan is the real pro cyclist in our family. My ride was about 23 miles. Great for me but last Friday Ry rode about 50! He is training to ride in a Diabetes ride in June…100+ miles!! He is AMAZING...I am really proud of him!

Blog Identity Crisis

I am having a blog identlty crisis! I just can't get the back groud to look the way I want it to so if it changes 100 times over the next lilttle while...you know why!

“Easters”

We went to my sister’s house for “Easters” and had a day with the family. We had an amazing dinner which I ate way too much of and then did what all families do…pay Chinese Jump rope! Don’t all families play that? Anyway, if not do you remember it? We used to play it everyday during recess in elementary. Oh, the days…

We also played a little kick ball and played at the park.

Over all it was a great “Easters” and I was happy to see the sun out again after such a wet week.

I've Gone GREEN

Spinach Shake
My friend, Jill, posted this recipe on her blog so I thought I would try it. I love shakes and don't mind spinach and I am always looking for new ways to get my veggies in. So, I tried it....and the verdict is in...LOVE IT! You really can't taste the spinach! Not that I would mind but the combo of fruits and spinach kind of makes your eye brows raise, but it is really good. I can see why even her kids love it. Jill's kids call it the "green drink" which is a great idea...I had to tell Ryan the same thing. :) He is not a big veggie eater but he really liked this...so it passed the test! Try it for yourself! You will be happy that you did and you may even get your kids (or husband) to finally like eating their veggies!

Get the recipe here:
SPINACH SHAKE

I have only tried the first recipe but I add fresh lime juice (yummy!) and I half the recipe which makes about 3 cups (i think).

Happy Veggie Drinking!

"Refashion"

As I search all these amazing blogs of talented people I see a lot of "refashioning" old clothing. This bodes well for me because fabric is too expensive for me right now...you know "the times" and all. Anyway, anyone who knows me well knows that about a year ago I lost about 50 lbs. So, I remembered that I have a bag in the back of my closet full of clothes that no longer fit. If you think about it...that's a lot of fabric! :) I pulled out that bag and got some old shirts...now I am ready to "refashion"! :)

Pictures coming this weekend! :)

Consider it Recommended...

This past week I finished "The Host" by Stephanie Meyer. I loved it. I tried reading it once before but couldn't make it past the first chapter but this time I listened to it during my commute everyday and really liked it! So much so that I found myself cheating and listening to it while I was doing things around the house instead of watching the TV or listening to music. I say cheating because I have to keep my audio books for my drive or I get really bored. Anyway, consider it recommended if anyone is looking for a good book to read.

I really like how Stephanie writes. It is very easy reading but you get really into the characters...which leads me to believe that maybe I don't love Bella and Edward or Wanderer, Jared, or Ian (from The Host) as much as I love the author who created them...

So, Stephanie if you are reading this... (whispered and kind of creepy) "I Love You!"
If anyone likes to listen to audio books check out Audible.com this is where I get all my audio books it is a monthly subscription that downloads to your i pod. The only hang up is that they don't have the Harry Potter books, YET! This is a great way to get new books every month for WAY cheaper than getting it on itunes or on CD.
