Viewmont High Class of 1998

Last Saturday I attended my 10 year high school reunion! Awesome! Sitting in that room with all those familiar faces who once had names attached to them set me back in time about 10 years. Where many scenes took place very similar to that one...with those same people in that same place. It made me want to go back and look through my old scrap book and WOW, WOW! :) Looking back 10 years later I was able to recognize some things about me that I could not see back then...let me share!
Please bare with me as we travel back to 1998!
And the list of things noticed:
#1: my friends and I wore overalls way too much...
(this is one example but trust me there were MANY!! and the overalls were usually accompanied my candy necklaces...YEA!)

(Typical weekend night)
Along with the first picture comes #2: we posed for the camera way too much!

(Christmas Dance senior year)
Pretty much my high school experience revolved around boys, friends, and softball (not in any particular order).
This is where I realized #3: when it came to softball I was not very humble...

The "Back" this article is referring to was this one...Nici Back (wow--who says stuff like that?)

All the seniors on the team
#4: all dance picture are awkward.
This my Homecoming my senior year--it was with my good friends, Chuck but picture after picture of dances...they look so uncomfortable, awkward, and...young!

Those are my lessons learned--here are just some funny things we did-
My boy best friend in high school was my back door neighbor Chris...This was the Valentine's Day dance we went to together-we made our own shirts:

Not really sure why or how it happened but I would draw on Chris' back...cool Viking stuff--Again wow, who does this?

There were a couple trips to Lake Powell with friends families:

I don't care who you are Powder Puff will always be cool as long as you put black lines under your eyes!

And after all that fun and foolishness--we still managed to go to class, get good grades, and graduate!

I can't believe it has been 10 years! I think the comment I got the most at the reunion was "When did you go dark?" (meaning my hair) My hair has been dark for so long I didn't realize it had been any other color but after going down memory lane I realized...
lesson #5: it is ok not to bleach dark hair blond and constantly have dark brown roots--maybe my friends should have let me know...10 years ago! :)
Two final words: GOOD TIMES!

10 inches

And the Winner is... NUMBER 1
As number 2 and 3 got votes off I took that as a sign...

BEFORE...Usually straight, sometimes curely--but mostly a ponytail!

Minus 10 Inches later...

So, Ryan does not know how to hold a camara straight...we are working on that :)

I love it--Thanks Summer!

JULY 7th @ 7:00PM

I have decided to cut my hair! Yes..I have! I am nervous but my hair has gotten pretty long and I have three things I can do with it...straight, curly, and pony tail. Needless to say these days the pony tail is winning out! I just want a short cut with a super cute style. So I have his magnificent magician who cuts my hair and I don't know what I want but I am nervous and ready! (I think!)
So I need some help. These are the cuts I am liking right now and I only have a week and a half to decide--so lets begin...help me:

Number 2:

Number 3:

If anyone has any other cute cuts in mind please share!

A True Twilight Geek!!

Ok, so I am truly obsessed! I started reading Twilight again and then when I started commuting I downloaded New Moon onto my ipod and just listen to that during the drive...and trust me the drive is now not long enough! I just finished New Moon and started Eclipse today on the way home. Ok, this is where the geek part comes in...when driving by myself and the narrator reads Edward--I smile, when Edward enters a room--I smile, and just when ever Edward is in the book at all...I SMILE! In my car all by my self--I smile. I am obsessed!! When I am done I will download Twilight...and start it all over again, and again, and again! I have problems. I don't know how I feel about the movie but just because of what it is I will love it, download it, own it, and watch it over and over again!
Is there help out there for someone like me? And if there is do I want it?

Just Stuff...

My new favorite show is "So You Think You Can Dance?"...The answer is NO!!! But, I love to watch it. It makes me wish that I could dance. They all look so elegant and cool. I could go for elegant and cool! :) They just got to the top 20 so I do not know who my favorites are yet, but can't wait to find out!

This is just something I really, really want! We have a nice backyard (more weed than grass) but I just want to be able to sit in the backyard while the weather s still nice, enjoy my flowers, and read a good book! It this too much to ask? A girl can wish can't she? :)

Oh MY...Hidden Hollow!

Well, Tuesday was my last day of work. It pretty much revolved around eating all day with the same people. My two favorite things... food and people, who I like! :) First we went to Bajio (my fav) for lunch and then everyone came over to our house in the evening for a BBQ!
I have loved working at Hidden Hollow! I love my supervisor Laetitia, she has taught me so much and I hope to take what I can from her into my new position and be a leader like she has been to me. She is a powerful woman! I love the guys who live there. I have really come to form relationships with them and I hope to be their friends forever! Last but not least I have loved the people that I worked with! Not only did they think that I was funny (sometimes), but they are all extremely hard workers...which made for a great team. They made it easy for me to do my job better.

Melissa, Brian, Bryant (and Bryce, his son), The Harker
Holli Berry, KJ, and Me!
I loved Hidden Hollow but I am very excited to move on to my new job. It is a chance for me to learn more as a person and as an employee. My fear is that I will not be surrounded by the great same co-workers that made work fun! Or maybe I will! I am excited to find out and I am excited for the new challenge!
This is KJ and Holli Berry...they are best friends and Holly came to work with this shirt on and it just so happens that I had the same shirt so I donated it to the "BFF" cause! Aren't they cute! Best friends and twins!

What a Weekend!

"What a Weekend" that is what I am calling this past weekend. It was just so much fun it needed a name. This post might be long but it has to cover three whole days of excited thing...

FRIDAY
I applied for a new job early last week with the company that I work for and I received a phone call Friday that I got it! I am really excited! Other than I will be commuting to SLC. I will be the Director of a new day program for people with disabilities. Most of the people who go there are from our facilities but when it is a better program we will have another 20 slots for people in the community. Our company took over the program about 3 months ago but I guess the other director did not get any new contracts or work for the people there so they colored 8 hours a day for about 3 months. So I get to go in there and basically build a program from nothing! I am very excited about this. I know it will be a challenge but this is my kind of thing. So, yea! for the new job (I will start in about a month). After work Ryan and I went and bought a new grill. A couple
of weekends ago we drove to St. George to pick up some DHL vans and they paid us...so we used that for the grill. We have been waiting anxiously. Ryan spent the next couple of hours putting it together while I set up the tent. What? Tent you might ask, well... In the name of Mother's Day Ryan bought me a new sleeping bag so we decided to try it out in the back yard!
After Ryan finished the grill and before we camped out...only until 1:00am because Chase would not settle down in the text to sleep and I kept telling Ryan to put him in the house so that WE could sleep his response was, "No, he needs to learn to sleep in a tent!" Needless to say he did not learn that night. Ok, so before all of this Ryan had to make a steak on his new grill at 9:30pm...which I only had a bite of! Only one bite for me because of what happens on Saturday mornings...
SATURDAY
Every Saturday morning we wake up early and go to Weight Watchers. This was an especially good Saturday morning because I made two of my goals...#1 I have officially lost 50 lbs (51 to be exact). #2 because it is 51 lbs I am finally in the weight range that WW says I should be in. In other words...I am no longer "over weight" according to Weight Watchers! :) So because of this "mile stone" I wanted to share a picture of the before and after. Many of you will not remember the before because it mostly happened in AZ but here we go.... The before was taken the weekend before we started WW:
BEFORE
AFTER
Nothing like a picture to let you know how over weight you really are! This is not the official after it is just the 50 lb after. 15 - 20 more to go for the final goal. And yes I had Ryan take a picture just for this purpose...I know lame!
Anyway, moving on with the "What a Weekend"... we went shopping Saturday morning and I got a bunch of stuff in the name of Mother's Day even though I am not a mother. And when Ryan said, "you don't need that. You're not a mother." "My response was, "Really? Are you really going to through that out there?" And then I would get to buy the whatever! :) I pulled the pity card all day. We decided to skip the regular Saturday bike ride and go see "What happens in Vegas". We both really liked it. After the movie I went home and ate some of the yummy strawberries that we bought at Costco....they may just be the biggest, reddest strawberries I have ever seen. See:
this is a picture of a normal sized strawberry compared to the huge massive strawberries that we got. :)
After the strawberries we went to the Bee's game with some friends. It was cold but they won. Yea! It was really fun!
SUNDAY:
Happy Mother's Day! After church we went to my parents house for yummy Mother's Day fajitas and a little kick ball with our nieces and nephews. We love our moms and it was just a really nice day to spend with family!
The best part about the entire weekend was that I spent it with my best friend.
Now I am super tired and ready to go to bed! What can you say after a fun weekend like this? "What a Weekend"!

Cool Aunt Nici and Uncle Ryan

Not having kids (yet!...for all you hopefuls) lets us be "Cool Aunt Nici and Uncle Ryan". We get to take this nieces and nephews and lets them drink what their parents don't let them and eat what their parents don't let them and stay up all hours of the night doing what ever they want and their parents can't say a word about it...because what would they say any ways?..."We will never let you babysit-for-free-over-night again!" I don't have to many crazy sisters who pass up 24 hours of free baby sitting. :) Anyway, this last weekend we took my 2 nieces (Diamon and Raiven) and nephew (Jett) for the night and had a great time. We all stayed up late playing Disney Trivial Pursuit till we were all too tired to care who won and then we all went to bed. But not without a fight of where everyone was going to sleep. Then the next day we all ate at a Hawaiian BBQ place, watched the Disney channel for what seemed like hours, everyone had a ride on the WASP (our scooter), and then we rode TRAX (Trax can be cool if you are a kid and have never rode it before) to the Franklin Covey Field where we watched our wonderful Salt Lake Bee's win their way to a 14-1 record! (They are on fire again this year!) After the game my mom took all the kids home to their parents and we went home as "Cool Aunt Nici and Uncle Ryan"! And EXHAUSTED--Kids wear you out! :)

P.S. We are very excited about the Bee's this year! We are HUGE fans and last year we didn't get to go to any games because we were in AZ. This year we already have our games picked out and can't wait. If anyone wants a fun double date let us know, my dad gets cheap tickets (that's why we are huge fans...it is a cheap summer activity!)
GO BEE'S!

2 Reasons Why I Joined Weight Watchers! :)
