The Happiest Place on Earth!!!

Yes, Yes it is!!!  And I think about going back EVERYDAY!!!  This was our first real, non-camping, family vacation.  We really wondered if Wes would really enjoy it at his age but, he did!  He had a blast, we all did!!  I know this post is a LITTLE late and I'm a failure at updating my blog but better late than never, right? :) Here is a little info about our vacation.  It was last minute.  I dropped Wes off at the sitters one day and she said she wasn't going to be there for a week because they were going to Disneyland.  I said, "yes, we'd love to go!" and that was kind of it, we decided to do it and went to Dinseyland with them. :)  Better than getting a substitute sitter! :)  Anyway, we drove to Mesquite after work one night and stayed in the 5 Star (wink wink) Virgin River Hotel, got up the next day and drove the rest of the way to Disneyland.  We stayed at the Red Lion, it was about a 15 minute walk from the gates of the park, it was perfect.  We hung out on day 1 and just rested and hung out at Downtown Disney.  Then on day 2 we had our first day of Disneyland.
We decided to take Wes back to the Hotel for a nap, big mistake! While Ryan and I slept Wes played in his pack-n-play.  I woke up to the smell of poop!  I thought to myself, "that's weird, did Ryan change a poopy diaper on my bed?" Then I heard Wes.  I got up and say his bare bum against the side of the pack-n-play...standing there with handfulls of poop!!!  I freaked out!  Jumped out of bed, yelled at Ryan to get up, and put Wes in the bathtub.  While Ryan finished the bath I gathered up all the clothes, blankets, and anything he may have touched and went to put them in the hotel washer.  We missed out on 3 hours of Disneyland with that little escapade!  Lesson learned...no more going back to the hotel for naps.  The next 2 days he slept just fine in his stroller and that's when we got our shopping in. :)
Day 2 & 3 we spent some of the day with our friends.  We liked having his little friends around to play with.  We had a great time and tried to make the most of every second!  3 days at Disneyland sounds like a long time but we struggled to get in everything we wanted to do. Next time, I think we'll make it a 5 dayer!  Speaking of next time...I'm not sure how much longer I can hold Ryan back!  He talks about going back all the time.  At least one of us has to be rational.  Once he gets off his kick I'll start itching to go and it will be his turn to rein me in. :)  But, we will go back soon, thats for sure!
The pictures are out of order, sorry!
Wes was amazing during the traveling portion.  He pretty much slept the majority of the driving.  But, when he wasn't sleeping he was watching the car dvd player our good friend Jess gave to us--those things are LIFE SAVERS!  He was super silly too, as you can see.

One of his favorite rides was the Carrasel...it make me sick be he loved it.

This was Ryan's Suvie: Star Wars sweatshirt, the back has Darth Vader on it.

Wes's FIRST VISIT pin, he loved it!  Oh, and his cute sweater I couldn't resist buying.  Still today on of my most favorite things he wears.

Wes got to pick out something of Rachel for Christmas and he picked out this cute Pluto animal with bells on...he loved it so much we didn't think he was going to be able to part with it that we had to get him one too before we left so now they have matching Plutos! :)

Hilarious Smile!

Helping dad out with the luggage cart!

DUMBO!  I think Ryan liked this ride more than Wes did! :)

Waiting in line for Peter Pan...who doesn't like that ride?  But, as for the other children's rides...CREEPY! :)

This is one of my favorite pictures becuase of the story that goes along with it.  We met up with a couple from our ward one evening and went on a few rides.  Well, we wanted to go on California Screamin but the girl from the other couple didn't really want to go so she went on the Carrasel with Wes.  It probably took us about 30 minutes because of the wait and then teh ride.  Well, when we got off they were still on the Carrasel.  I was confused because there was no line so I know that they hadn't waited longer than us so, I called to Laura while they were on the ride and she yells this back, "This is our 5th time around!  He won't get off, there's no line so they let us just stay on.  He loves it!"  I was laughing so hard.  I got the video camera out and had to tape this.  The next time it stopped she tried again to get him off and he slapped her hand away!  It was hilarious.  Ryan had to actually go up there to pry his little hands off the bar.  He came screaming!  Poor guy!  It was too cure though, he loved it!

I love these two pics because as a little kid, even Wes's age, hotels are so much fun.  He got to sleep with mama,  I can't say I didn't love all the cuddling.

The huge letters that spelt CALIFORNIA were gone and this sign is there now, I thought it was really cool.  Of Course, I made Ryan take our picture by it...even though you can't really see us.

We got to go into the park early one morning and there weren't a lot of people there yet so we managed to get a GREAT family shot in front of the castle without 100 other people in the background doing the same thing.  Believe it or not, we even had to stand around and wait for someone to come by to take our picture, it was kind of cool.

Riding "It's a Small World" he loved all the music.  They actually had it decked out with Christmas decorations and they sang a Christmas song.

One of Wes' FAVORITE movies is Monster's Inc.  He loved this ride, we went a few times.  And one time as we were getting out Sully was walking by to get to his photo op area and we happened to be 3rd in line.  Wes loved to see him from far away but as you can see shyed right up when we got close.  This is Sully laughing because Wes was so scared. :)

We got our picture anyway.  :)

Riding Hicup's train.  Ride spoiler...he burps at the end! :)

These are Wes' babysitters kids...they might as well be his sisters.  He loves them, he loves their entire family.  Infact, one of the days he fell and was crying and he only wanted Matt (the babysitters husband) to hold him!

Going on Mommy's favorite ride...Pirate's of the Caribiean

This is how we did naps day 2 & 3! :)  He slept as we waited in line for the Haunted Mansion and slept all through the ride!  Hello, could this kid get any better! :)

We were all obsessed with the Micky Mouse shaped suckers.  I can't tell you how many little bundles of those we bought.  We still have a couple of them in our pantry.  It's just the same to eat them outside the park! :)

Wes and dad sharing suckers!

Family picture while waiting for the parade...eating suckers!

Family picture infront of the HUGE Christmas tree.

Packing up our stuff, ready to go!  Saddest day ever! :)

I'm not lying when I say this picture was taken within 5 minutes of leaving the hotel and before we even got onto the freeway.  He was the lucky one, we all felt this way, but only he got to sleep!  I love all the little Disneyland toys in his lap...what a great 3 days for a little boy!
We'll head back soon!  After writing this post it may be sooner that we had thought! :)
