"I Need A Hobby"

Have you ever heard someone say, "I need a hobby?" Well, I think I found one.... I have been a busy bee. It all started with the bag, then the diaper bag, and now this, I am hooked!...
Baby Booties

So, I got my hair cut again this week and, Summer, who cuts my hair is pregnant. We were talking about knit booties and I got this idea to make felt booties. Here are the first two pairs that I made--Summer these are coming your way :). I found the patterns on Heather Bailey and Martha Stewart.
Knot Dress

This is Jayci...the cutest little girl in our wards nursery. The other day she had on the most fabulous dress ever (this one).
I had to come home and TRY to recreate it. I used fabric that I had lying around...Pink denim (NICE!) Anyway, it turned out pretty cute, I thought. The original dress came from
Matilda Jane. If you have little girls it is a MUST SEE!
Thanks Jill for letting me use Jayci's pictures.
I had to post this picture too because I thought it was so delicate and beautiful!

I have really enjoyed learning to sew and make things. Also, I love all the blogs and craft websites that give me ideas and keep me motivated!
Maybe one day I will have my own little kids to make things for but as for now...All Friends and Family keep having babies so that I can keep making you things! :)
Yea...I have a hobby!

Diaper Bag

My friend Dede just had a baby this past weekend...again CONGRATULATIONS! I made her this diaper bag. I was really excited to do it and then got really overwhelmed. I just wanted to make it something she would like and also something useful. Since I have never had to use a diaper bag I in listed my good friend, Jess, to give some suggestions about what good diaper bags have....pockets and cleanable. Thus...here is the final project:
The outside fabric is a laminated fabric and you can just wipe it clean from spills or dirt.
There are three pockets on the outside. One with a flap, one for a bottle, and one large one in the front. It also closes with a metal/magnetic clasp.
The strap is adjustable.
The inside is a jersey/sport fabric...also wipeable! There are 5 pockets: one long one across the front, 3 elastic bottle pockets and another straight one on the other side.

It has stroller straps to hang from the handle of a stroller. (very happy about those:))

There is a detachable key clip. (very happy about this as well :))

Matching diaper/wipes case.

Yeah, I know the Velcro is crooked...don't judge :). It wasn't crooked when I originally sewed it on. Anyway, it closes good enough.
I am very happy with the final project and I hope that Dede finds it useful for her and her new baby!
Jess also, thanks for taking all my countless calls and brain storming with me!

And He Thinks I am OCD!

This is his tool shelf in the garage and there are more on the shelf eblow as well....here is my proof that I am not the only one! Welcome to my world honey! :)

Name Spoiler!

Yesterday I got really board (Ryan was taking a nap) and so I got this idea to make something for the bare walls in the babies room so....here it is! Ok, not to boast of my own work (because it is not that great) BUT...This turned out better than I could have planned! I think it is adorable. You may share me enthusiasm or not but I love it and I think he will too! :) Sorry for the name spoiler but I had to share!

The back side is this cute polka-dot that matches all the fabric in the room. I just sewed the two fabric and used felt letter. The tie is just a ribbon ironed in half. This whole project took me less than two hours and I wouldn't be happier with it. :)

Not The Biggest Fan...

I am finally fed up! I have decided I am not the biggest fan of "The Purse"! I know, I know, they come in all different shapes, sizes, and colors but, I am just not a fan. I know...I even just made one! What what I thinking? Just one more place to collect crap. It does not matter what color, size, or shape my purse is it ends up being a dumping ground for junk! I can never find the one thing I am looking for. Lately this has meant holding up lines as I one-by-one begin taking things out till I find what I am looking for (Yes, I have become "That Lady!"), or actually putting my bag on the ground so that I can get in there with TWO hands! I am ridiculous! So, today I did it! I finally just dumped it out to see what has been causing me to be "That Lady!" And here is the Damage:
After sitting down and rummaging through the clutter this is what I discovered:
-5 Pens: All black ink because I use them at work and end up walking out still holding on to them.
-2 bottles of hand lotion: "Look Ma New Hands" from Bath & Body works...My Fave!
-1 bottle hand sanitizer: No explanation needed, you just need to have one.
-My work keys
-Weight Watchers Calculator: Helps my figure out my points at a click of a button.
-6 Tampons: Why six? Why not?
-2 movie tickets: Twilight from 11/22/08 and Bride Wars from 1/10/09.
-Lip gloss
-Ryan's Christmas List: The example of me getting down on the floor to look in my bag...well this exact list made that happen before Christmas time in REI! Awkward!
-5 paint samples
-My cell phone
-Screen protectors for my cell phone
-Verizon rebate card: with nothing on it.
-My i-pod: I am currently listening to the Inheritance Trilogy. I am on the last book "Brisinger" and loving it. I recommend it...if you can get past the first book, it is kind of a snoozer!
-1 Bottle Cap: my favorite little candy...left over from the dollar movies the other night (TWILIGHT: number 7...check!)
-3 cough drops
-2 dollars and 1 penny: You know what that means...Dell Taco for dinner :)
-2 check stubs
-13 receipts
-8 bill print offs from the computer
-Sun glasses case
-Sun glasses cleaner kit
-A lovely but oh so ever very annoying pile of TRASH!
And a Partridge in a Pear Tree!!!!
Who would of thought all of this CRAP would be in this little cute purse...
Yeah, not the biggest fan!

Oh, Jason...YOU SUCK!

So, if you watched the Bachelor last night you probably threw up a little in your mouth!
I was his biggest fan of Jason until last night! I actually thought that would happen because there were two after the final rose shows but, man he bites! Ryan would comment how he cried so much after he let each girl go there at the end...I just thought he was a sensitive guy but when he sat and cried after he broke up with Melissa my only response was..."Suck it up! You don't get to cry anymore!!!"
And Melissa...YOU GO GIRL! She got to say her piece and said all the right things. My favorite was "Don't text me anymore, don't call" oh and, "You're such a Bas#@&*!" You could tell she was so heart broken. Especially when she said, "I wish you would have just let me go!" I really liked her. I think that it would have worked for them if he hadn't watched the show and the feelings of "What if" came up. He is a Snake!
As for Molly! PUKE! Ok, so he dumped the girl he proposed to five minutes before and with out asking why or what happened just started making out with him on TV again. Jason didn't even want to make an effort with Melissa what makes Molly think he will be any different.
One last thought...for Jillene who was my FAVORITE...You're a lucky girl! Who new he was doing you a favor by letting you go. But, word of advice: Watch out, next week he may come looking for you! Just send that ketchup boy on his way! :)
P.S. Jason you belong with Deana!
