HAPPY BIRTHDAY Picture OVERLOAD!!!

 Wes is ONE!!!
I can't believe my little baby has been in our lives for a year!  It has been quite the growing year...for all of us! :)  Rachel came from Oklahoma to spend the week of celebration with us.  You know how I said in my last post that I had 4 days off? Well, there is a worst case scenario at my work and that is when the state surveyors show up ONCE A YEAR!  Worst case scenario happened Monday at 7:30am!  They walked in the building at 7:30am and I was there an hour later.  Basically worked normal hours the rest of my vacation.  It was a total BUST!  But, we still had fun when I wasn't at work.
Here is a full "picture" re-cap of the party...
The Birthday Cake!  This was the cake that I made for just Wes...you know, the dive in a eat like crazy make!

This is what the guests had...if you were lucky to have one!  I totally under estimated on food and we ran out!  So, I'm not the great host I always wanted to be. :(

THE BIRTHDAY BOY!!!  Rachel made him this cutest shirt. I just loved it.  Can't you just tell he is PUMPED for his birthday? :)
 The back of the shirt...
Then we watched his favorite music video...Stronger by Will i am and the Sesame Characters :)
Then he, well I, opened his presents...he had a blast!  One great toy after another...

We sang happy birthday while he wore his "Happy Birthday" hat for 20 seconds.  Then came the cake.  I wondered what it was going to be like because he is not an aggressive eater as it is so to be able to just dig in might be weird to him.  And it was!  We turned the video camera off after about 15 minutes of him picking individual sprinkles off and eating them.  It was too funny.  He was a very dainty eater! ;)
But as you can see he managed to make a mess! :)
Oh, and we did party hats but as I went through the pictures it seems like I'm the only one who really kept it on throughout the entire party!

On the day of his actual birthday we went to the Cheesecake Factory...why there? Well, as all parents do 4 hours after their baby is born they go out to lunch to the Cheesecake Factory while the birth mom gets some alone time with baby...isn't that what everyone does?  Oh well, we went a year ago on this day so we decided to bring him this time.

Wes got a few last minutes presents before bedtime... mom and dad got him a Build-a-bear at the mall and Rachel got him this piano which we plays 24/7!  Over all I think Wes had a great birthday--I know we had a great time Celebrating him!
This may have been my favorite thing about the party...
I took a picture each month with that darn monkey so I had to do something with them.  So, I made this and had Costco print it as a "Poster Size" and we hung it up at the party.  I was fun to see his growth, measurements, and mile stones all in one place.  I know I'm weird but this is a keep sake! :)

It's FUN to be Thirty-one!

If the only thing you do in this post is watch the video at the end...DO IT!!! It's the best part.
I had a great birthday. My family & friends came over in the morning on Saturday and we had our traditional birthday breakfast/pj party. We all had our Halloween attire on. :) I got some great things...Beauty & the Beast, a bread maker, and my friend Jess made me a sign made out of pendents that says Trick or Treat! My parents also got me a really cute sweater. But, one of the best gifts came from Ryan the day before the breakfast...he came home with TONS of Halloween decorations and we spent the day decorating for the party. We had so much fun! :)

We didn't get any before pic of the decorations but here is an after of the mess being cleaned up! :) But you can still see our sweet decorating!
Wes with his cousin Aulbanie.
Wes being just a head! :)

I was at DI the other day for work and found this cute little sweat shirt for $2!!!! I love it! :)

And last but not least the best video...EVER!!! until the last second :)

It's Time

It's time to post again...I have had a nice little break. Here are just a few pictures of what we have been up to over the past month...
For my birthday we hiked to Stewart Falls with some of my family members--there were some really pretty colors.

Then last weekend Ryan planned a surprise camping trip to Goblin Valley. Neither us had ever been there but it is AWESOME!!! We camped Friday night and then hiked Little Wild Horse/Bell Canyon Loop (about 8 miles) on Saturday....They were these cool slot canyons. I recommend it!

Happy Birthday to ME!

So...29 huh? It was my birthday on the 9th I don't mind getting older but it bites when your husband is 27 and constantly reminds you that you are almost 30!
I had a big party with my family on Saturday that started at 9:30 am where we all wore our jammies and had a super yummy breakfast of pumpkin pancakes, orange french toast, and this sausage/apple mixture that made its debut....and it was a hit! It was a great day!
What did I get you might ask...well, a super cool watch (thanks honey), Sleeping Beauty, mixing bowls (if all else fails--I love kitchen stuff!!!), flowers...oh and CRUISE in 3 weeks!!! Yes, it is coming up. 1 year in the making and it is almost here....I can't wait!
I am bummed because I didn't get any pictures. I went to use the new camera that we just bought and it was busted...it might be because it is close to the size of a credit card and I have dropped it about 5 times. Don't let me near small objects--including babies! I am not real sure what would happen...maybe I should just use the camera sitting down! :) Well, that day we went and replaced it (Costco has a 90 day return policy...no questions asked (good thing!).)
Good news...we got a new camera and of course took the first 20 of random pics of us :)...So, did you ever think..."I wonder what I will look like at 29?...My last year before the 30's?"
Well, wonder no further--this is me at 29...
I have 1 whole year to prepare myself to be 30...I did just fine with the 20's, I am not so sure about the 30's!
Oh and this sweet jacket...Ryan's grandparents sent me birthday money back in August with Ryan's birthday money and I bought this...But now that it is colder I have finally had a chance to wear my sweet present! Thanks Grammy and Grampy!

Happy Birthday Yanice and Brit

It was my little sisters birthday last Monday and my moms birthday last Wednesday. On Thursday my family met at TGIFridays and had a birthday celebration.
Funny story... my mom's name is actually Janice but in High School I told my softball team that her name was Yanice and I guess I forgot some of them that it was really Janice and throughout the whole season every time they saw my mom they called her Yanice...and now it has just stuck. So sometimes I call her Janice and sometimes I call her Yanice. I started calling her by her name when I was in High School. One day she asked my why I did that I told her it was because she called me by my name, Nici, and if she called me daughter I would call her mother, so we did for about two days and then just went back to our names...She is one funny lady!
Birthday Girls!

Pictures from the party...

So the next day I went to work and opened my purse...there was a fork and knife wrapped tightly together in a napkin from the restaurant. I have no idea how it got there but I guess I accidentally stole their silverware...oops!

Happy Birthday James!

We had a really fun weekend. It was our friend, James' birthday so we celebrated all weekend. On Friday we went to a really good Thai restaurant, I had never had Thai before but I really liked it. James got a 12 week old Rhodesian Ridgeback for his birthday so after dinner we let him and Chase have a play date. Chase was very excited and going crazy! But, he was having a lot of fun.
Then on Saturday we had a party at their house with all their friends and then we went roller skating! It was hilarious! In college James took a roller skating class and knows how to do all these cool tricks...we even saw a video of the final where he had to do a 3 minute routine...WOW! :)
Well, you see that smile on Ryan's face? It was not there all night. It was a frustrating experience for the big guy! He fell three times. Although, I have to say he was a very good sport and stuck it out! I was very proud of him for trying. He is awesome! I honestly never thought I would find myself back in a skating rink after all these years. I think we could all tell we are getting older...because by the time we left our ears were ringing because the music was so loud and we were all worn out! A bunch of old farts! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES...WE HAD A GREAT TIME!
