Happy Mother's Day

I love the commercial for 1-800-flowers because it celebrates all kinds of Mothers...even dog mother's which is what I was for so long but now I am the Mother of the sweetest little baby boy! He brings so much joy to me.

-I love that I feel like I am the only one who can sooth him when he is crying (even though my family doesn't believe we let him cry).

-I love to look into his eyes late at night or early in the morning when I am feeding him and and he looks in mine and on some level we connect and he knows that I am him Ma'ma!

-I love when he has the smallest, tiniest, little moments like when he picks his head and chest off the mat and I feel like he has moved the world!

-I love that in the mornings after his feedings he is so happy and pulls these cutest little smiles--even though he still doesn't know what he is doing to me.

-I love picking out his cute little outfits and making sure he is the cutest baby on the block! :)

-I love when people tell me how cute he is because he is and I'm not sure Ry and I could make anything cuter ourselves. :)

-I love that the molds right to my body and it doesn't matter how often people tell me not to hold him all the time...sometimes I don't want to listen and I just want to snuggle right up!

-I love that after a bath he is always up for a big nap because that is what I always want to do after a nice hot shower...Although, I never do and he always does! :)

-I love that he is one day going to be sealed to us forever and FOREVER be on our family and be apart of us!

And last but not least I love that he has an amazing, beautiful, and very unselfish Birth Mother who we love and adore. It is because of her we have this precious addition to our family. Happy Birth Mother's Day (which is the Saturday before Mother's Day)!

And Happy Mother's Day to all those Mother's out there.

Even with the exhaustion it really is the best thing ever, isn't it?

One of Many...

It has been one of those days which I'm coming to realize will be One of Many... I think the hardest part of the adjustment for me is the staying home. I didn't realize what an "on-the-go" people Ryan and I were but, I can only take about 1 day inside before I've got to get out again! walks have become my new best friend.
But, the real reason for this post is how my day kind of gets away from me before I know it... So, it is 5:44pm and I'm pretty sure I haven't brushed my teeth today, I just can't remember! I didn't even eat anything until about 2pm and that was only because an amazing friend brought me In-n-Out! THANKS DEDE!!! I didn't even put on a bra until about 1:30 and that was only on Dede's behalf (DON'T JUDGE!:)). Then we uped Wes's formula and I guess I didn't burp good enough because he threw up the entire bottle all over me and himself. So, after I stripped him down to give him a bath, I should know better but, I left the little guy naked in my arms and yep... He peed all over me! So, I had to strip down before giving him his bath. YEA for days like this! I look at it as bonding, right?

Everybodies Doing it...Why Can't I?

That's right! I'm talking about SLEEP!!! One piece of advice I got over and over was, "Sleep when the baby sleeps." I have learned this is easier said than done. From Monday to Thursday morning I got about 4 1/2 hours sleep, if that. I think Wednesday night I was so sleep deprived that even when I really tired to sleep I found that I was just not tired. Thanks to the 3 weeks of American Idol that taped while we were gone I had something to watch on TV. Wes sleeps great...like clock work but I guess I am too paranoid to sleep when he is. I am also a lighter sleeper than Ryan and I kept thinking that if I did sleep and something happened Ryan would not hear him and I would need to be awake. I know...CRAZY THINKING! Anyway, come Thursday morning I could barely stand straight so I called for reinforcements. I woke my mom up, in a fit of tears, who lives about an hour away and she was there asap. Kindly giving me an over the counter sleep aid and taking over for the day while Ryan was at work. I was able to sleep about 8 hours!!!!
I decided that I needed to change something so, Wes was moved back into our room, I say back because when we were in Oklahoma he was in our room and I slept fine but, when we got to Utah he went straight to his crib. The good news is...I was able to sleep just fine last night.
Conclusion...I'm just not ready to have him sleep that far away from me yet!
But, I'm ok with that! :)
At least I can SLEEP and I don't feel like a blubbering mess today!
THANKS MOM...YOU'RE THE BEST!!!
