What Happened to 9, 10, and 11?

I just knew Wes was getting bigger but I didn't know exactly how much till we went to his 2 month appointment last Friday.

Here was the first picture I realized that he was growing... (I know bad mom for taking a picture while he is crying but, I couldn't resist). Ryan put him in this outfit to sleep in and as you can see within 8 weeks he completely out grew the outfit he came home in.

Then at the Dr. we got all his new measurements and I just laughed because I knew he was growing I just didn't know it was that fast. We still had him in newborn diapers because they went up to 10 lbs and "he couldn't possibly be over 10 lbs"... I was so wrong! I'm not sure what happened to pounds 9, 10, or 11 but he went from 8.8 to 12.1 in 5 weeks!!!! We came right home and the first thing I did was trade out all the newborn diapers to the next size up! :)

Here are the new measurements:

Weight: 12.19 lbs (63.48 percentile)

Length: 23.63 (73.06 percentile)

he grew about 2 1/2 inches!

Head: 15.35 (23.28 percentile)

his head didn't grow as much as his body did but the dr. says they don't worry about it unless he stops gaining weight...but as you can see that was not an issue this time! :)

We got Wes' 2 week pictures done when we got home from Oklahoma and just recently got the disc so I thought I would share some of my favorites!

Super Cougar!

Ok, I have decided I was born in the wrong generation! The past couple years my "Celebrity Crushes" have consisted of: ZACH EFRON, TAYLOR LAUTNER, and now...JUSTIN BIEBER!!!! It is so many levels of wrong but I am a Super Cougar Fan!

I feel this video describes our relationship...I am played my Tina Fey and Justin plays a character named Jason (but it is really himself). :) I think this summarized the messed up nature of the whole thing!!!! :)

Something to Celebrate!

For the past week Wes has been sleeping 8-9 hours in a row...which should be "through the night", right? Well, it was more like 6pm to 2-3am which was still nice since we only had to get once in the night and since he is bottle fed we take turns getting up every other night. But, last night we fed him a 1/2 bottle and 10:00pm, he was asleep by 10:30pm and I woke up at 7:30 AM to his little cry telling me he was ready to eat! THAT IS 9 HOURS!!! It was wonderful. I think I actually got a little more sleep than that since Ryan did the feeding while I went to bed a little early. So, the trick is to feed him just a little bit at 10pm and it is happy sleeping!!!! He has just been the best baby we could have ever wished for.

We love him so much!!!

Happy Mother's Day

I love the commercial for 1-800-flowers because it celebrates all kinds of Mothers...even dog mother's which is what I was for so long but now I am the Mother of the sweetest little baby boy! He brings so much joy to me.

-I love that I feel like I am the only one who can sooth him when he is crying (even though my family doesn't believe we let him cry).

-I love to look into his eyes late at night or early in the morning when I am feeding him and and he looks in mine and on some level we connect and he knows that I am him Ma'ma!

-I love when he has the smallest, tiniest, little moments like when he picks his head and chest off the mat and I feel like he has moved the world!

-I love that in the mornings after his feedings he is so happy and pulls these cutest little smiles--even though he still doesn't know what he is doing to me.

-I love picking out his cute little outfits and making sure he is the cutest baby on the block! :)

-I love when people tell me how cute he is because he is and I'm not sure Ry and I could make anything cuter ourselves. :)

-I love that the molds right to my body and it doesn't matter how often people tell me not to hold him all the time...sometimes I don't want to listen and I just want to snuggle right up!

-I love that after a bath he is always up for a big nap because that is what I always want to do after a nice hot shower...Although, I never do and he always does! :)

-I love that he is one day going to be sealed to us forever and FOREVER be on our family and be apart of us!



And last but not least I love that he has an amazing, beautiful, and very unselfish Birth Mother who we love and adore. It is because of her we have this precious addition to our family. Happy Birth Mother's Day (which is the Saturday before Mother's Day)!

And Happy Mother's Day to all those Mother's out there.

Even with the exhaustion it really is the best thing ever, isn't it?

Congratulations are in order...

Ryan Graduated from UVU this past Friday! :) Yea, I won't need to be a single parent any longer!

His dad and step mom flew out from Indiana for the first time. It just so happened that the adoption worked out at the perfect time and they already had tickets to come for graduation and ended up getting the biggest bonus ever and that is meeting little Wes. I hate to not make a big deal out of graduation but Wes really was the main attraction!

GOOD JOB HONEY! Let's hope grad school comes and goes quicker than this did! :)

Last Thursday Wes hit his 1MONTH old mark! He is all scrunched up in the first photo but someone call the police....

Someone has stolen my little baby and replaced him with a just-as-cute but larger replacement!!!

I can't believe how fast he is growing!

At 5 weeks he...

-still sleeps all day and night!

-eats 4 oz. every 4 hours

-he is starting to focus on faces

-likes playing on his play mat and can stare at the light for several minutes at a time

-has tummy time 3 times a day and can lift his head and chest off the mat

-SMILED for the first time on Cinco de Mayo...he did it a few times again today but I don't think he really knows what he is doing yet. I think he is just experimenting with those muscles. All he knows is that his mama goes crazy when he does it! :) I am perdicting that in the next week or so he will catch on and start smiling all the time--we can't wait!

Things I am currently in LOVE with...

In no particular order...

#1) How can he not be the cutest baby ever? I had to change him after pictures because these clothes made him look way too grown up! :)

#2) My glorious and extremely good looking husband who willingly took all the feeding the other night and then accused me of taking advantage of his over sleepiness by making him do them! :) Oh, and who graduated last Friday...pictures to come.

#3) GLEE... I have watched a;; the episodes over the past 2 1/2 weeks and am falling over for the over acting and theatrical show tunes!

#4) PARENTHOOD...if you haven't watched this yet,,,you should! I am pretty sure it is our new favorite TV show. We look forward to every Tuesday night just to take a peek into the Brenaman Family! Check it out but, I suggest you start at the beginning.
