A lover of things...

Wes is such a happy baby and a lover of many things...
1 being bed time! Wes loves to be naked when he's changing clothes. It's pretty funny to see his bare bum go right in the air when his toe is going into his mouth!
Anyways, this picture came from Ryan changing him and his onesie got stuck, he thought it was funny too! :)
Already a product of his generation! The kid loves You Tube!
Sesame Street You Tube that is. We put up Sesame Street music videos and he will sit and watch them forever. He likes Elmo and laughs at him. I put the camera off to the side and tried to take a "candid" shot as to not disrupt the awesome crossed hands! :) We think this is AWESOMELY HILARIOUS!

The Food Nanny

I LOVE TO COOK!!! Sometimes when I'm mad or feel under appreciated and think "I won't make dinner tonight that'll show em!" But then I realize that not making dinner is more of a punishment on me then anyone else, because I enjoy it so much, Ry is fine with a bowl of cereal! :)
As long as we've been married I've worked and that means I usually get home a little tired but it is a stress reliever to cook dinner. But, I have to have a plan. I have to make a list the week before and shop the Saturday before in order to have stress free dinners. If there is no plan and I have to come up with a dinner on the spot...IT'S NOT HAPPENING!
Anyways, a couple of weeks ago we were at Swiss Days (where my sister was voted one of the top 3 booths! :)) and the only thing I bought was this recipe book: (I have a secret crush on all recipe books!) The "Food Nanny" has brought so much JOY into my life the past 2 weeks than I realized a cook book could. It is not so much the food as her idea...Every night is a theme night! Her book is grouped in recipes according to a theme. You pick your theme each night and then just flip to that section in the book and plug in a recipe! I love it. We have eaten Food Nanny recipes each night for the past 2 weeks and it has been some of the best eatin ever! :)
Fettechini Alfredo with homemade bread sticks (Italian night), 3 cheese quesidillias (Mexican night), buttermilk waffles (breakfast night), some amazing Italian pasta (Italian night), homemade pizza (homemade pizza night), and tonight maybe the best fish tacos (meatless/fish night) I've ever had!
I have kept the same themes each week and plan on keeping it that way. This way Ryan will know what to expect for dinner depending on what night it is.
I bought this book for $20.00 but amazon has it for $16.95.
Here is what my two week planner looks like. We plan and shop for 2 weeks at a time except for the perishable items. I also like it because you don't have to just use her recipes but you can plug in your favorites to the night that they match. I read her whole book and loved it...she is from the Park City area...oh and even signed my book! :)
You can check out her web sites and see all her recipes and get them off line. You can also plug them into your own 2 week planner and then print the recipe if you want. I find the book easier just not cheaper. I made my own 2 week planner in Excel instead of using hers because I am a super geek like that!
Anyways, give it a whirl...if nothing else try the theme nights, it kind of makes planning out your menus fun.
I know I am sounding geeker by the minute :)
sorry for all the typos I blog too fast these days... there's just not enough hours in the day!

Better Late than NEVER!!!

Here are some pictures of the best part of our family...
Yes, I am about 13 days last posting these but...better late then never! :)
Wes was 5 months old at the end of August.
He is our little smilie man! He brings so much joy and happiness into our lives. My new job has been really stressful and busy...it brings me so much happiness to get him at the end of the day and just hold and hug him all evening long! It's the BEST part of my day!
He has started sleeping unswaddled. There are a few nights here and there he will wake up crying to have his binki put back in his mouth since he's been unswaddled and he never did that before but he is still sleeping 8-10 hours a night. But, the thing about not being swaddled is that his hands are out of the blanket and they get so cold so we have to put socks on them! :) it's kind of funny but it works.

I know I have so many pictures of him sleeping but he just makes it look so darn cute I can't help it!
I love the little hands peeking out.

Anyone who knows me knows my love for Fall and especially Halloween! We found this little number in Walmart and couldn't pass it up for $3! He might wear it every night until it won't fit anymore...I will do everything in my power to instill my love for Halloween in this little guy! :)
Now on to bigger concerns, WHAT SHOULD HE BE FOR HALLOWEEN?????

Girls Camp Battle Bruise...

I went to girls camp for 2 days and I was in a "Leader Race" with the canoes. I was so smart I stepped into the canoe without any support for the boat or for me and it cap sized!!!!! Yes, I went down with it shoes and all! By the end of the night I had this lovely, HUGE bruise on the inside of my right knee. It hurts even to walk! But, of course all the girls got a good laugh out of it. I was the focus of the cheer that night at flag and there are also 15 or more pictures of me soaking wet laying on the dock laughing at myself floating around facebook!!!!
Oh, those young women and their need to post EVERY picture on facebook!!! Lovely!

4 MONTHS and growing

On July 29th Wes turned 4 months old!!! I can hardly believe how fast the time goes by and how much he is growing!!!
New Measurements:
Weight: 15.39 (62%)
Length: 26.25 (91%)
Head: 16.53 (44%)
This poor monkey takes a beating every month!!! :)
And this month even got taken advantage of a little! ;)
Here are a few facts about Wes at 4 months old...
  • He sleeps through the night
  • He drinks 6 oz. of formula per bottle (but I think he's itchin to up it)
  • He fit into some 6-9 month old clothing
  • He rolls over from back to stomach and from stomach to back just not together, yet!
  • He reaches for things...toys, binky, and bottles
  • He laughs and smiles ALL the time
  • He usually only cries when he's REALLY tired
  • He sleeps swaddled
  • He loves his cow head blanky
  • He coos and babbles all the time
  • When he's happy or really excited he screams in a high pitch I'm sure only dolphins can understand
  • He lets Chase lick him and sniff him
  • He is freakin cute!!!!!

We couldn't be more in love with him and wish we could spend every waking minute with him!

HE ROLLZZZZZ

He will no longer stay on his back. Within seconds he will roll to his stomach and then make noises to be turned back over just to do it all over again!!! It's so fun now that he is starting to do more and more things.

My baby @ 4 months...

Here is my little buddy!!! I went to 2 days of girls camp and missed him like crazy!!!
He takes his naps in our bed. He sleeps better...I think because it's cooler and darker! He takes naps with Chase...
He takes naps with dad...
and he takes naps with mom...just no pictures! :)
I checked on him one night and this is what I found...we thought it was hilarious! :)
LOOK AT THOSE EYES!!!!!!!!
I can't even open mine as wide as his are naturally!
Ok, he has these Disney jammies that we can not get enough of. He looks so freakin cute!!! Oh, and they are 6-9 months!!!! The kid just won't stop growing!

These jammies are also 6-9 months!!!

He is growing so much and just gets cuties everyday! He is also doing so many more things...each day is a new surprise. :)

In the words of Whitney Houston...

I'M EVERY WOMAN!
That is how I feel at the present moment anyway!
I feel pulled in so many direction and have so many people relying on me...I'm thin as paper (unfortunately not physically).
I have been trying to find a new place to live up north, because we are moving at the end of August...
In the past week I accepted a promotion, which is in Bountiful. So, I have been commuting there just about everyday. They have not filled my old position so basically I am running a Day Program for 66 individuals who are developmentally disabled and managing the staff there (my old job) and running a residential facility for 12 people with disabilities and managing the staff there (the new job).
The lady who had my old job destroyed the office and basically any system of organization that ever existed there...so the past couple of days I have been going through PILES AND PILES of papers!!! I'm pretty sure she never filed one thing as long as she worked there!
On one hand this is VERY VERY frustrating and on the other I love it because I LOVE ORGANIZING!!! :) (I know sick! :))
I am trying to raise a 4 month (on Thursday) old.
Take care of my sweet husband and have a life with him.
And be the camp director for our ward, which is next week.
I am physically exhausted just writing all that stuff!!!
Something had to eventually give and that was the camp director calling...the young women's president saw that it was KILLING me and basically delegated ALL my responsibilities. So, I have tried to help here and there but I feel like an utter failure at my calling.
This past could of weeks has just been exhausting and it won't stop for a couple more!!!

Brain Fart!

HELP!!!!
I need to do Wes' scrapbook but every time I sit down to do it I have a brain fart and can not think of how I want to start it. It is so permanent and I want it to look good.
ANY SUGGESTIONS????
